Scotia Healing Organisation
The Organisation was set up in March 1995 by a small group of people who was tired of paying over the odds for insurance plus paying for everything from training to magazines, it was felt that we had no say concerning anything, we were expected to go along with everything that was decided by those in charge. We got together to form an organisation with a legal constitution, training manual, bank account and charitable status, our first meeting was to decide what was a reasonable amount to charge members and it was also decided that we would be a non profit organisation. Within a few months we had many requests to join, we then affiliated ourselves to a London based healing organisation but unfortunately this did not work out due to certain things occurring within the management, it ended up that 12 organisations walked out. After a few months, one of the organisations contacted Scotia with a plan to set up another main body management, two of our committee went along to a meeting along with representatives from 14 other organisations, at the meeting discussions concerning funds, code of conduct, training manuals and autonomy for a organisations. This seemed to be the way Scotia members wished to go, though discussion among all the organisations a training manual was made up, an insurance company was contacted and the Global Forum was set up, we played a major part along with others to see that we are all united in making decisions and being in touch at all times. Our Organisation now has members all over Scotland and certain parts of England, we charge for insurance and Scotia fees, if we are in need of extra's we do fund raising, once a year a magazine is put together and is sent out to all our members, no member is asked to pay over their yearly dues, we are growing all the time, we will never be as big as some of the larger organisations but our members are trained to a high standard, some now work within Hospices, homes for the elderly, special needs units, Hospitals, peoples homes as well as churches, there is always someone they can contact by phone, letter or email for any concerns or enquires. If you want to add someone to the healing list, want to submit a prayer or just want to contact us about an idea for the site then please use the contact page and we'll be happy to help.
